Project management pricing tracker

Basecamp vs ClickUp pricing

Both of these are in Project management, and we read both pricing pages the same way, with the same reader. Everything below is what each page printed on the day we read it. Both pages read on 1 Sept 2026.

We check each page about once a day, so this is a daily reading, not a live feed. Prices are copied as printed, never converted and never averaged.

The two pages

Tier by tier

Rows are lined up by position on each page, not by tier name, because the names never match across two vendors. Row 1 is the top tier on each page, row 2 the one under it. Where one page has fewer tiers than the other, the row is left blank rather than paired with something it is not.

The entry tier

ClickUp is the cheaper of the two at the entry tier: $10/user/mo on Unlimited, against $299/mo on Pro Unlimited. That is $289 less, 97 percent below Basecamp.

ClickUp charges per person and Basecamp charges for the whole account, so the two figures are not like for like. This is the cheapest paid monthly tier we can read on each page. Free tiers, quoted tiers and per-unit rates are left out, because none of those is a figure you can put next to another company's figure.

  • ClickUp removes marketing messaging about 25+ products and simplifies feature positioning on pricing page

    ClickUp18 Aug 2026

ClickUp removes marketing messaging about 25+ products and simplifies feature positioning on pricing page Why it matters: • Messaging shift away from 'all-in-one' feature abundance positioning suggests internal strategy change, potentially toward deeper feature adoption rather than breadth claims • Feature icons and count removal may indicate clearer tier-based differentiation coming or testing of simplified value prop • Reduction in visual feature list complexity could improve conversion, worth monitoring if accompanied by pricing/plan changes Positioning & Messaging: - Removed prominent '25+ products' claim and associated product icons (AI/Brain, Super Agents, Chat, Tasks & Projects, Docs, Forms, Calendar, Whiteboards, Gantt, Time Tracking, Dashboards, Sprints, Clips, etc.) - Removed 'SAVE 30%' annual billing messaging prominently displayed in pricing toggle - Streamlined feature matrix display-no longer explicitly listing 12+ additional products beyond those shown What to do: • Monitor next 2-4 weeks for tier restructuring or pricing changes; the feature list removal often precedes plan/price updates • Audit your own messaging vs ClickUp's-if you emphasize product count/breadth, this is a signal the market may be moving toward outcome-focused positioning • Capture lost positioning: if ClickUp softens 'all-in-one' messaging, test emphasizing your focused depth or superior UX in 2-3 core workflows

  • ClickUp removes Templates link from pricing page navigation

    ClickUp15 Aug 2026

ClickUp removes Templates link from pricing page navigation Why it matters: • Templates section deprioritized in pricing page UX-suggests either lower usage or repositioning as secondary feature • Simplified navigation may indicate internal focus shift away from template-first onboarding Navigation/Positioning: - Templates link removed from pricing page header/menu navigation - No corresponding plan changes or pricing adjustments What to do: • Monitor whether templates remain available in product or if this signals deprecation of that feature • Check if ClickUp is shifting template strategy toward in-product discovery vs. external marketing

Both pages were read on 1 Sept 2026 by the same reader, so the figures above are two prices from one day rather than two prices from two moments. Prices are copied as printed, never converted and never averaged, and a vendor can change a page any time after we read it. Open both pricing pages before you act on any of this.
