Linear vs Notion pricing
Both of these are in Project management, and we read both pricing pages the same way, with the same reader. Everything below is what each page printed on the day we read it. Both pages read on 1 Sept 2026.
We check each page about once a day, so this is a daily reading, not a live feed. Prices are copied as printed, never converted and never averaged.
The two pages
Tier by tier
Rows are lined up by position on each page, not by tier name, because the names never match across two vendors. Row 1 is the top tier on each page, row 2 the one under it. Where one page has fewer tiers than the other, the row is left blank rather than paired with something it is not.

The entry tier
The two entry tiers carry the same figure: $10/user/month on Linear's Basic, and $10/member/month on Notion's Plus.
Both figures are charged per person, per month, so they are like for like. This is the cheapest paid monthly tier we can read on each page. Free tiers, quoted tiers and per-unit rates are left out, because none of those is a figure you can put next to another company's figure.

Notion29 Aug 2026Linear pricing page changed
Linear21 Aug 2026Notion removes live chat widget from pricing page
Notion15 Aug 2026Notion removes live chat widget from pricing page Why it matters: • Reduces direct contact friction for pricing inquiries-sales conversations may now route through contact form or demo requests instead • Suggests Notion may be optimizing support cost structure or shifting sales motion for enterprise deals Positioning: - Removed live chat widget from pricing page (previously featured Notion chat avatar) - Direct messaging capability no longer prominently available at point of purchase consideration What to do: • Monitor whether Notion redirects pricing inquiries through alternative contact channels (form, calendar links, or dedicated sales email) • Assess if this signals a shift in Notion's sales strategy-could indicate they're concentrating support on higher-value deals or reducing real-time support overhead
